Creviced Faces

Darkness robs objects of their color, yet supplies deeper hues to the lines in people’s faces. Why is that? Are objects merely pleasures designed to feed our senses when illuminated by light? Is man both vivid in the light and dark? Which is more beautiful? In the light, I think, but then, it is also impossible to see how deep the shadows carve canyons into a person without encountering them in the dark.
